Migration from Bing Maps to Azure Maps
We are happy to announce the launch of the new web version 31.0, which took place on the 10th June at 4:00 AM CET. This update brings valuable enhancements and critical fixes to optimize the platform’s ease of use primarily focused on User Experience and Online Meetings and Events Booking Tool (OMBT), as well as the extension of Online Check-In flows to external bookings done on OTAs. On top of these improvements, radissonhotels.com is welcoming the adaptation of a new maps provider in the Chinese markets as well as the implementation of a new identity and colour palette to Radisson Rewards loyalty program.
Due to the decommission of Bing Maps at the end of the month, this new web version implements an updated map provider for Chinese IPs, Azure Maps, so that no loss of service affects the brand web when Bing Maps is switched-off.
The maps provider has been updated throughout all the necessary touchpoints:
- Destination pages
- Search Results page
- Room Display page
- Confirmation page
- Private Area
- Points of Interest landing pages
Users connecting from China will be able to navigate the new map interface. All functionalities and navigation capabilities are maintained together with a slight change in the look and feel.
Soft Rebranding - Radisson Rewards
New colour palette for our loyalty program!
A fresh look and feel for Radisson Rewards, elevating the appearance and proving a new aspect on every touchpoint of our brand website. Some examples of the new look for some of the components present on radissonhotels.com:
- The launch of this project updates all web touchpoints in purple colour (either generic Radisson Rewards or Club tier) to the new purple #382246.
- All Radisson Rewards related icons are keeping the traditional colour.
Other Enhancements & Bug Fixes:
- Mobile search bar improvements on Safari devices: Changes focused on the Room configuration section, allowing a smoother interaction.
- Employee Code parameter for B2C members: Enrolments done by airline crews are subject to be identified by informing the employeeCode in the profile creation.
- Online Check-in completion for external reservations: Bookings done on OTAs with non-alphanumeric IDs can successfully complete the online check-in and payment step prior to the stay (pending activation, ETA 11th June).
- Online Meetings & Events Booking Tool general enhancements: Several UX improvements have been included as part of the OMBT flows, specially focused on boosting-up the Booking Funnel.
- Postal code field formatting in ‘My account’: The postal code field accepts spaces and other common characters as a valid expression in the profile of the Radisson Rewards members.

Other Fixes & Performance Enhancements
- Search Bar Improvements: Fixed an issue where tapping the popular destination's card on the Android app's homepage didn't open the search results with the latest recent search dates. Now, clicking these cards will correctly apply your most recent search parameters. Also addressed an Android app regression where the search bar's default calendar dates were incorrectly selected. The search bar now displays the correct default dates.
- Main Menu Keywords Size: Resolved a display problem in the app's main menu where keywords weren't resizing properly for longer language translations. This ensures men text displays correctly in all languages.
- Checkout Form Improvement: Eliminated a disruptive loading animation in the Android app's checkout form. This animation no longer triggers with every keystroke when you're logged out, improving form usability.
- Partial Redemption in Checkout: A critical regression in the Android app's point redemption has been fixed. Partial redemption when attempting to book in CPD properties with aprepaid rate was throwing an error preventing members to redeem points. You can now successfully redeem points without encountering any errors.
